About Us
We're a couple of normal people who are passionate about financial literacy and want to help others understand their money so that they can start living the life of their dreams.
Our current home base is Tampa, Florida, but we can be found just about anywhere.
Why, you ask? Because we have chosen to live life on our terms and design the life of our dreams. We developed this site in hopes that it will encourage you to live life on your terms.
We both work for ourselves from the comfort of our own home and love traveling and exploring this wonderful world.
Eli grew up in Ohio, specifically Delaware, Ohio. Rebecca was born in Maine. Both led pretty eventful lives and ultimately chose to attend the same graduate school where Eli completed a Masters in Finance (MSF) and Rebecca a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). Sharing interests in areas such as finance, investing, business, financial independence, frugality, purposeful living, travel, chess, learning, exploring, etc., it was only a matter of time before a mutual admiration for each other developed.
Post graduate school Eli began his investment career as an analyst in private real estate for a public pension fund before moving on to become vice president and portfolio manager for a money management firm and vice president for a financial software company. At this time he was also writing financial articles and a finance book on the side. Rebecca post graduation worked for a university developing assessment reports and teaching courses in financial literacy and academic skills to undergraduate students. We were both separately prioritizing frugality and increasing our individual savings rate each month until we each made the jump to pursue a more purposeful life of self-employment. Eli ventured off to writing as an investment analyst for a couple different companies as well as his own site The Currency of Time. Rebecca branched out as an independent data analytics consultant working primarily in the higher education industry. Ultimately we got married, traveled around the world together (while working remotely), and pursued our various interests.
This site has been a side hustle project idea for some time and the purpose is not to grow our bottom line, but rather give back and help others by providing the tools and framework needed to pursue a more meaningful life towards financial freedom. We are often approached by friends asking questions regarding managing their money and our hope is that this site will serve as a go to resource promoting our financial philosophy that others can adapt to their life situation. Finance is personal and often people don't like talking about the subject. We want to take the fear out of finances and empower you to win with money and ultimately live your best life!
